NOC will allocate UAH 1.25 million for the development of Ukraine’s basketball teams

Thanks to effective cooperation with Olympic Solidarity of International Olympic Committee, National Olympic Committee of Ukraine managed to attract UAH 1 million 250 thousand to prepare the women’s and men’s teams of Ukraine in basketball for 2020 Tokyo Olympics, reports press service NOC of Ukraine.

These funds will be used for training camps, as well as for participation in international competitions during 2019-2020.

“Game sports in our country are very popular. I believe that our teams are able to break through to the Olympic Tokyo. In particular, the steady success of our 3×3 basketball teams gives us hope, which is the logical result of the great work of a large team led by the President of the Basketball Federation Mykhailo Brodskiy. We remember very well the "silver" performance at the I European Games 2015 and the "bronze" triumph at last year’s European Championship of our girls, as well as a good achievement at the 2017 World Championships of Ukrainian guys, who became the third. I am confident that these funds, attracted by the National Olympic Committee from international partners, will allow our teams to successfully overcome the Olympic qualification and successfully perform at the Olympic Games-2020,” said NOC President Serhii Bubka.
