The Ukrainian Navy Commander Ihor Voronchenko has said that Kyiv is ready to use force against Russian forces if the situation in the Azov and Black Seas escalates. This is reports by the «New time» inform agency.
Being questioned about inspections of Ukrainian ships in the area of the Crimean Bridge, which is conducted by the FSB and the Black Sea Fleet of Russia naval vessels, Voronchenko answered that they are not illegal. At the same time, he called them as «dirty actions.»
«If there is any kind of escalation, we will use force. If they resort to severe destabilization, we will adequately respond – we will accompany our vessels, stay in the areas where fishing and other types of fishing are conducted,» – the commander of the Ukrainian Navy warned.
Voronchenko also noted that even with small forces at sea, it is «capable of performing a respective list of tasks.»
