Representative of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Metropolitan of Gallic Emmanuel said that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its guides have the right to their place among the churches.
As the press service of the president of Ukraine has informed, about this Metropolitan Emmanuel said at the celebrations on the occasion of the 1030th anniversary of the baptism of Kievan Rus-Ukraine in Kiev.
According to Metropolitan Emmanuel, the Ecumenical Patriarchate «will not leave Ukrainian people who are not defended and left to their own will».
«The Ecumenical Patriarch cannot remain blind and deaf to appeals, which have been repeated for more than a quarter of a century. Children of Ukrainian Church and its guides have the right to their place among the churches», said Metropolitan Emmanuel.
«The Mother Church has already passed a decision on April 19 this year. Namely – to begin the procedure to achieve the ultimate goal – the granting of autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church», said the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
«We are confident that the Ecumenical Patriarchate is on your side. You will not be orphans, because the Mother Church will find a way out to join your development, your success, your growth in the faith of Christ», said Metropolitan Emmanuel.
