Oleg Leontyev, the Senior Lieutenant of the Russian Armed Forces, said during the trial, that he took part in «certain campaign» in the country, which is located in the neighborhood with the Russian Federation. This was reported by the press service of the «Mother’s Right Foundation».
The source reports that the Russian army officer recognized officially (because he was in the court), that he took part in «certain events on the territory of the neighboring country where we were officially «not present.»
«In case of a positive decision of the court, I will take the next flight there (to Syria – ed.) immediately. It will let me be of some use for the state. I already participated in one of such measures, although it was on the territory of the neighboring country, where «we never were there,» – Leontyev said in the Naro-Fominsk garrison Military Court (Moscow region), on July 4.
The report notes that it is the first official recognition made by an Russian Federation army officer on the participating in military operations in Ukraine, since it is Ukraine to be the only neighboring country to Russia, in where the Russian government denies participation of the Russian armed forces.
In the situation, when Russian serviceman being detained in the east of Ukraine, the Kremlin put forward the version that he has already resigned and went to fight in the Donbass as a volunteer.
