The House of Commons of the U.S. Congress allocated 250 million USD to support Ukraine in the defense and security area; the money will be assigned from the 2019 U.S. defense budget. This is reported by press service of the Ukrainian embassy in the U.S on Facebook
It is assumed that Ukraine will receive 100 million dollars more than was offered by the Committee in this fiscal year. At the same time, it became known The document features basic provisions of the draft law on the cooperation with Ukraine in cybersecurity issues. The allocated funds will help Ukraine to strengthen its own capabilities to protect against cyber attacks, ensure the security of computer networks of state authorities and to reduce the dependence on Russian information and communication technologies.
The bill also confirms the US commitment to the United States-Ukraine Charter on Strategic Partnership, the Budapest Memorandum and the support of Ukraine’s cooperation with NATO.
The draft law is yet to be coordinated with the version approved by the Senate and re-voted by both chambers of the Congress.
