Ukraine has created a new Earth Observing System (EOS) platform, which will monitor the land and its condition after analyzing satellite data and combining it with data received from the ground.

According to the Agroportal publication, the new software combines advanced algorithms which analyzing fields using vegetation indices, as well as historical data.

The EOS continuously updates meteorological information with an early weather forecast that takes into account precipitation, air temperature, humidity, wind speed, and snow depth. Therefore, thanks to a new solution, users will learn in advance about critical weather conditions that may threaten cultures.

“EOS will register any changes in the fields and conduct online monitoring of planting of new crops and their maturation. Using this system, farmers will be able to optimize their work and the costs of maintaining the fields, as well as identify key areas for development.”

The new platform is scaled easily and gives access to updated satellite images which demonstrate state of the fields and the weather anywhere in the world 24/7.

As The Journalist reported, the winter weather turned the Great Wall of China into a dangerous attraction.
