This was stated by the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak, answering the question of how he relates to the possibility of negotiations with the militants of the so-called “DPR/LPR”, UNIAN reports.
“I am the Chief of General Staff – my functions are completely different, I am not a negotiator. Let the negotiators talk – this is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the rest structures that should negotiate. I manage, prepare the Ukrainian Armed Forces for all possible threats, for an adequate response, and with minimal losses,” Khomchak emphasized.
As The Journalist reported, Khomchak said that the main task of the General Staff is to preserve the life and health of the Ukrainian military.
