The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate UAH 250 million for partial paying down wage arrears to miners. The Chairman of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine Mykhailo Volynets wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“At today’s meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was decided to allocate UAH 250 million for partial paying down wage arrears to miners,” the head of the union wrote.
Mykhailo Volynets noted that as of August 12, wage arrears to miners amounted to UAH 923.4 million.
As The Journalist reported, Ukrainian miners will lose jobs over closure of unprofitable state coal mines until 2025.
