Ukraine is planning to introduce road fees for foreigners, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii has said, Ukrinform reports.
The Minister noted that foreign drivers when entering Ukraine’s territory must pay excise taxes, as Ukrainian drivers do.
“We plan to introduce road fees for foreigners in Ukraine. After all, they do not always buy excise taxes, and it is not quite fair for our motorists who pay the excise duty. For example, a large foreign-registered truck with a full tank of fuel enters Ukraine. It travels thousands of kilometers on our roads and pays nothing for that. So we will be planning a certain mechanism, and we hope that the deputies will support it,” Kryklii said.
The head of the ministry also added that Ukraine planned to repair 24,000 km of roads within five years.
As The Journalist reported, Omelyan announced era of concrete roads in Ukraine.
