The head of the consular section at Ukraine’s Embassy in Poland Svitlana Krysa has said that over the past 2019 almost 3,000 citizens of Ukraine were born in Poland, which is 35% more than in 2018. It is reported by Ukrinform.
According to Svitlana, 2,992 certificates of registration of a person by birth as a citizen of Ukraine were issued by the diplomatic and consular institutions of Ukraine over the past year.
“There is an increase in Ukrainians birth rate in Poland compared to the previous year: 1,961 such certificates were registered in 2018,” the diplomat noted.
She also noted that at the same time, the mortality rate of Ukrainians in Poland is increasing: in 2019, 619 certificates were issued to repatriate the dead citizens of Ukraine to their homes, while in 2018 there were 529 such certificates.
