On June 30, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar met with ambassadors of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

The meeting participants touched upon discussion of the results of the Czech presidency in the Group and the transfer of powers to Poland from the beginning of July this year.

According to the Czech ambassador Radek Matula, Ukraine was in the focus of the Czech presidency during the year, although not all projects were implemented because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The V4 representatives presented a special program “V4 East Solidarity Program”, which was created under the auspices of the International Visegrad Fund for the Eastern Partnership countries. It will disburse EUR 125,000 to help Ukraine fight the COVID-19 pandemic in Chernivtsi and Luhansk regions.

The Deputy Minister Vasyl Bodnar thanked for the assistance provided by the member countries of the Visegrad Group in the fight against COVID-19 and drew attention to the intensification of Russian destructive actions in Donbas and Crimea.

Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine Mr. Bartosz Cichocki assured that the issue of security will be one of the three priorities in the program of the Polish presidency in the Visegrad Group.
