The head of the Poltava Regional State Administration Oleh Synehubiv has said Poltava region authorities is managed to handle the situation with the spread of coronavirus under control, keeping the region in green-zone area. However, they are prepared for different developments of situation, the press service of the Regional State Administration reports.

“Poltava region is ready for a possible second wave of coronavirus,” Oleh Synehubiv said.

According to him, the infectious diseases departments of the regional hospitals are provided with 100% personal protective equipment for 2 months of full workload, in advance.

“We are maximizing stocks of personal protective equipment in medical institutions and for healthcare workers. We are ready for a possible second wave. The infectious diseases departments of the hospitals of the Poltava region are provided with 100% personal protective equipment for 2 months at full workload, in advance. Now the occupancy rate of hospital beds is 11.2%,” Synehubiv said.

He noted that thanks to the coordinated actions of the state, region and business, it was possible to increase the number of artificial lung ventilation in hospitals from 306 to 371 devices.
