Ukrainian freestyle player Oleksandr Abramenko became the silver medalist of 2019 World Cup, which took place in Utah, the USA, reports xsport.ua.
For the Ukrainian team this is the second medal. Earlier, Anne Marie Danci in snowboarding also became the vice-champion of the world.
After the second place in qualifying, Abramenko reached the super final, where he finished second with a final result of 126.24. Russia’s Maxym Burov (130.09) won the gold medal, and Swiss Noah Roth (125.22) won the bronze.
Thus, the success of Abramenko can be called historical. Previously, Ukrainian male freestylers never won world championship medals, and the best result of the freestyle team was Olha Volkova’s bronze medal at the 2011 World Cup, which also took place in Utah.
