This was reported by the deputy head of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Transformation of the Financial Sector project, Yulia Vitka, presenting the results of the study of the OECD Financial Literacy Index, conducted by USAID together with the National Bank of Ukraine.

“In total 58% of Ukrainians said that their income did not cover expenses during the last 12 months. This is a big number. In Poland this indicator is 18%,” UNIAN inform agency quotes Yulia Vitka, as saying.

According to her, 30% of those who are forced to “make ends meet” borrow money, while in Poland this figure is 12%.
