Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Volodymyr Yelchenko has presented his credentials to U.S. President Donald Trump.

This was stated at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

“Honored to represent Ukraine in the USA, which always stood farmly in support of our independence. Ukrainians will never forget this. Our strategic partnership will grow to the benefit of both nations,” Yelchenko said.

On December 19, 2019, President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Yelchenko the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States.

Earlier, Yelchenko held the positions of the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN in New York and the Ambassador of Ukraine in Jamaica.
