Ukraine’s Interior Minister Arsen Avakov at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers on June 5 said that he did not plan to resign and did not see the need for the resignation of the head of the National Police, Serhiy Kniazev, in connection with the death of a 5-year-old boy shot dead by policemen in Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi in Kyiv Oblast, Ukrinform reports.
“I do not think that the head of the National Police, Kniazev, should resign. He is working well and does everything what depends on him,” Arsen Avakov SAID.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also noted that he was not going to write a resignation letter either, adding that “the current Parliament or the future one can consider his resignation in an appropriate manner.”
