The Coordination Council of the Belarusian opposition is preparing a sanctions list named after prisoner Maria Kolesnikova. This was announced by the leader of the opposition movement in Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya in an interview with LB.ua.
“You can talk not only about Kolesnikov, but also about Tikhanovsky, about Babariko, about all political prisoners who are now in prison for nothing. We are working in this direction. At first, we thought that the authorities would see that the people were against it, that the people would no longer recognize Lukashenka as the leader of the country, they would understand: it’s time to finally hear them and start a dialogue, which we called for. But now we see that more radical steps are needed. Therefore, the actions you are talking about will be carried out,” the message reads.
