Cabinet agrees on date for introduce of lockdown in Ukraine

Lockdown in Ukraine will be introduced from January 8 to January 24. This was announced today, on December 9, during a meeting of the Government by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal, calling the forced measures “winter holidays for the sake of safety.”

“It was decided that from January 8 to January 24, inclusive, quarantine restrictions will be strengthened in Ukraine. Let’s call them – “Winter holidays for the sake of safety,” said Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Next restrictions to be introduced:

a ban on the operation of cafes, restaurants, bars (except for take-away delivery), non-food stores, cinemas, fitness clubs, shopping and entertainment centers;

all educational institutions, except kindergartens, will be closed;

ban on all public events;

public transport will continue to operate under the established restrictions in the orange zone;

grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, hotels will operate.
