Canada, EU plan to use AI to fight coronavirus

The European Union and Canada are trying to support global efforts to end the coronavirus pandemic using artificial intelligence. This was said in a joint statement by Canadian Foreign Minister François-Philippe Champagne and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell.

To the statement, Canada and the EU are collaborating on multiple multi-stakeholder platforms exploring how to apply artificial intelligence and other digital technologies to help the international community respond to coronavirus pandemic.

Coordination in the field of artificial intelligence “goes parallel with long and deep collaboration in other industries, including quantum technology.”
