The Kyiv Court of Appeal ordered the largest chemical enterprise in Ukraine, the Odesa Port Plant, to pay more than USD 250 million to Ostchem Holding Limited, the owner of which is well-known businessman Dmytro Firtash.
This follows from a court decision published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions of Ukraine.
According to the document, in November 2018, Ostchem Holding Limited (registered in Cyprus) made a statement in which it requested to recognize and allow the implementation of the partial decision of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce dated July 25, 2016.
In particular, to recover almost USD 193,000 of debt for the supplied natural gas and almost $ 58 million of fine accrued on the purchase and sale contract dated January 25, 2013 from Odesa Port Plant in favor of the specified company.
The plaintiff also requested a writ of execution to enforce the Stockholm decision, which entered into force several years ago.
As noted, the Odesa Port Plant filed an objection to the statement of Ostchem Holding Limited.
As The Journalist reported, former officials of the State Investment Project have appropriated almost UAH 250 mln.
