Croatia plans to complete the process of joining Euro zone by 2023

Croatia sent a request to European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis and President of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi for joining the European exchange rate mechanism and the European Banking Union. Politico reports about it.

Next summer Croatia plans to enter a two-year verification period, called the EU Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM-2).

Further, the finance ministers of the 19 euro zone countries will discuss the Croatian application, and if agreed, Zagreb will be able to introduce the euro as early as in 2023.

Earlier, The Journalist reported European Union had postponed negotiations on EU membership of Northern Macedonia and Albania.
