Donald Trump reveals what drug he is taken to prevent coronavirus

U.S. President Donald Trump said he was taking hydroxychloroquine to protect himself from coronavirus, the BBC reports.

According to Trump, he has been taking hydroxychloroquine “for a couple of weeks” because of the high risk of infection.

“The frontline workers many many are taking it so as not to get infected. I take a pill every day,” the U.S. President said.

Trump claims that he has no symptoms of coronavirus. He undergoes coronavirus infection test daily; all of these tests are negative.

He decided to take hydroxychloroquine because he “heard a lot of good things about it.” He also asked White House doctors if he could take this medicine. Doctors replied they had no objection.

Recall that hydroxychloroquine is an antimalarial drug that has been used in many countries for decades; in recent months it has been used to treat the coronavirus.

According to the Journalist, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned patients against taking antimalarial drugs chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19 outside the hospital, as serious poisoning and death have been reported after mistaken use of a chloroquine product.
