EC confirms Ukraine’s compliance with requirements for a second tranche

Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova has said that the European Commission on January 28 confirmed fulfillment by Ukraine of all the necessary conditions for receiving the second macro financial MFA4 EUR 500 million tranche.

“On January 28, the Vice President of the European Commission for Euro and Social Dialogue, Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union Valdis Dombrovskis in Brussels during the Sixth meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council noted that, according to preliminary estimates, Ukraine has met all the requirements for receiving the second tranche of the fourth EU macro-financial assistance program (MFA4),” Markarova said.

According to her, the second tranche is extremely important for obtaining long-term inexpensive resources of Ukraine and supporting the reform program.

The Minister of Finance emphasized that this would help keep state resources stable.

As The Journalist reported, European Commission plans to coordinate macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in February.
