Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Joseph Biden on his victory in the U.S. presidential election. This was reported on the official website of the head of the Turkish state.
“Dear President-elect, I hope the election results will benefit the friendly and allied people of the United States. As we have discussed many times during your vice presidency, relations between Turkey and the United States are strategic, based on a solid foundation,” Erdogan addressed Biden, adding that “the challenges we face at the global and regional level require us to further develop and strengthen these relations based on common interests and values.”
“I reaffirm our determination to work closely with the U.S. Administration in this endeavor in the coming period, and I believe that the strong cooperation and alliance between our countries will continue to contribute to world peace in the future, as it has done so far. I congratulate you on your success in the elections and express my sincere wishes for peace and prosperity to the people of the United States,” the Turkish President stressed.
