On December 4, the European Union will donate brand new information and communication equipment worth EUR 3 million to the National Police of Ukraine. The Journalist reports with reference to the EU Delegation in Ukraine.

High-quality data protection equipment will help to strengthen information security and the efficiency of the telecommunications infrastructure of the National Police, which supports the work of more than 45,000 police officers throughout Ukraine, and to increase the responsiveness to 102 emergency calls.

In addition, the equipment will help Ukrainian police officers, who cooperate with the Interpol and Europol networks, in countering organized, international and cybercrime. The purchase of equipment was carried out within the framework of the project “Support of reforms to develop the rule of law in Ukraine in the areas of police, prosecution and good governance” (PRAVO-Police), implemented with the financial support of the EU by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in close cooperation with the EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine.
