Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said that the aggressor country will soon return the Ukrainian ships that it took near the Kerch Strait in November 2018, as Radio Svoboda reported.

Negotiations are now on the final stages.

“They [the vessels – ed.] will be returned soon. The naval command is discussing technical issues now. Our [Ministry of Foreign Affairs] task is to let the process complete,” Prystaiko said.

Pristayko specified that the Ukrainian side wants to check condition of these ships, whether bullet marks left after shots fired by the Russian Federation military.

Minister emphasized that Ukraine still do not recognize Russia’s implementation of the decision of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

“We do not recognize that the Russian side lived up to due return of Ukrainian sailors; it was not performed under the court decision. They should have been returned long time ago without extradition to then the people the Russian side asked to us,” he said.
