The Bill Gates Foundation will founding a home-testing kits program for coronavirus, The Seattle Times reports.

“Testing for the novel coronavirus will get a huge boost in the coming weeks as a project funded by Bill Gates and his foundation begins offering home-testing kits that will allow people to swab their noses and send the samples back for analysis,” the material says.

People will also be able to answer questions about their movements via online, which will greatly facilitate the work of doctors.

According to the Gates Foundation, the goal is to process thousands of coronavirus tests daily. However, it is not clear when the project will be launched, as coronavirus tests has been limited so far.

“People can fill out a questionnaire, after the system will work. If their symptoms do not change, they may request a test kit that will be delivered to their residence within two hours. Smears will be collected and delivered to the laboratory for processing,” the article says

Gates Foundation has allocated about USD 100 million to fight the coronavirus outbreak.
