Georgian Foreign Ministry recalled its ambassador to Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia recalled Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine, Gela Dumbadze.

As Georgia Online reports, according to the President’s order, several more diplomats will be replaced along with Dumbadze.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry said that “the ambassador was recalled with a view to appointing to another position.”

“Gela Dumbadze will work at the central office as an ambassador on special assignments, and he will be entrusted with the matters in which he has extensive experience. This decision was made as a consequence of consultations with him,” the agency said.

Dumbadze had been Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine since June 15, 2017.

As reported by The Journalist, Georgia intends to simplify port entry procedures for NATO ships.
