The Federal Government continues to support the humanitarian activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Ukraine. It has already allocated EUR 1.8 million in 2019, as well as another EUR 4 million for 2020 and 2021, the press service of the German Embassy in Ukraine reports on Facebook.
Since 2016, Germany has allocated over EUR 30 million for the implementation of ICRC projects and activities in Ukraine. “The funds go to benefit people affected by the conflict on both sides of the contact line in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, in particular, to internally displaced persons and to families in cities and villages, who sheltered them,” said in a statement.
As The Journalist reported, the Red Cross sent 140 tons of humanitarian aid to the occupied Donbas.
