Ukrainian skeletonist Vladyslav Heraskevych won two medals at the first competition of the season informs xsport.ua.
19-year-old Ukrainian performed at North American Cup stage, which was held in Whistler, Canada.
On the first day of competition, Heraskevych won a silver medal, showing the total time in two attempts – 1: 46.31 (+0.10) minutes.
The next day, Ukrainian improved his time and confidently took the first place – 1: 46.04 minutes.
In addition, Heraskevych set a new personal speed record – 143.6 km / h.
The gold medal at North America Cup is the first victory of Ukrainian skeleton in history.
Note that after such a successful start, Vladyslav will go to the 2019 World Cup, which will be held from February 25 to March 10 at the same route in Canada.
Further in the plans of the team of Vladyslav Heraskevych, his father and coach Mikhail Heraskevych and a physiotherapist Lydia Gunko performing at the World Cup. The Skeleton World Cup season starts in Sigulda, Latvia, and will run from December 3 to 9.
