Govnt decides to split Ministry for Veterans, Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has canceled the creation of the Ministry for Veterans, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons and divided it into two ministries.

The relevant decree No.212 dated March 11 is posted on the government website.

Thus, the government recreated the Ministry for Veterans Affairs and renamed the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories into the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories.

From now on, the Ministry for Veterans Affairs provides for the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of social protection of war veterans, persons with special merits to the Motherland, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity, family members of war veterans, as well as social protection of persons covered by the Law on Status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection.

In its turn, the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories provides for the formation and implementation of state policy on issues of temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

The activities of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in 2020 is carried out at the expenses of funds provided for the activities of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons.
