SBGS: UAH 400 mln will be allocated for Russian-Ukrainian state border development in 2019

It is planned to allocate UAH 400 million from the state budget of Ukraine in 2019 for the development of the border with the Russian Federation, the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported.
In particular, the assistant to the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine (SBGS), Oleh Slobodyan, said that starting from March 1, 2019, under favorable weather conditions, work on the engineering-technical arrangement of the Russian-Ukrainian state border will continue.
“The project’s deadline is 2021 at the moment. During 2015-2018 it was allocated UAH 1.3 billion for implementation of the project. These funds allowed to equipped about 30% of the length of the Russian-Ukrainian border, in particular: almost 340 km of anti-vehicle moats, 250 km of rear roads, five border divisions were re-equipped, a sufficient number of support points were equipped, was purchased unique technical equipment for remote monitoring, and so on," said Slobodyan.
Also, he noted that it is planned to allocate UAH 400 million in 2019 from the budget, in order to purchase and deploy a significant number of video monitoring and signaling complexes, equip 50 km of anti-vehicle ditches, 9.5 km of mesh fencing, almost 48 km of Egoza-type spiral barriers, to build 65.8 km of rear roads, equip 40 rear roads crossings through difficult sections and much more.
