On February 7, the Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk during his speech in parliament said the mines that cannot be supported by the state will be closed, and miners will be employed, UNN reports.

According to PM, the Government conducted an audit of all mines of national importance and assessed their economic situation.

“Those economically viable mines, which theoretically can compete, will be supported as much as possible. Regarding mines which stays unprofitable for decades due to irresponsible management – we will look for an opportunity to employ every single person working there,” Honcharuk said.

He also added that the state mines extract coal of low quality due to the poor economic state, became uncompetitive, and, as a result, constantly accumulate salary debts to miners.

Honcharuk: Law on farmland market is a signal to whole world that Ukraine is ready to play by rules.
