The head of the executive committee of Ukraine’s National Reform Council, Mikheil Saakashvili, urged Ukrainian entrepreneurs to inform him about the challenges in business by posting videos on social networks with the hashtag #HovoritBiznes (Business speaking), which he promises to study in order to initiate legislative, administrative and other changes in Ukraine.
“On behalf of the National Reform Council I want to appeal to all entrepreneurs of Ukraine, starting from a small enterprise, ending with a large business. I ask you to send specific messages on what is stopping you, what needs to be changed in the law, what needs to be changed in everyday practice, how to stop arbitrariness of the Tax and Customs officials, and so on,” Saakashvili noted in his video message.
“Post it with hashtag “business speaking” on your page, or – even better – post it on mine page, and thanks to the hashtag I will find it. I promise you: every recorded video message will be carefully studied and the main ideas will be discussed with the president and other authorities,” Saakashvili said.
Saakashvili also said that President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to discuss the problems of Ukrainian entrepreneurs “at least once a week, in order to change this system, which everyone is tired of.”
“We need your position. I want to know what’s stopping you,” Saakashvili added.
To Saakashvili, Ukrainian entrepreneurs “are struggling with everyday challenges in business, namely the arbitrariness of the tax authorities, injustice, bureaucracy and everything that kills business, the economy and statehood in Ukraine for the last 30 years.”
