EU Ambassadors confirmed an informal agreement between representatives of European Parliament and Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on changes to the visa code, including an increase in the visa fee to € 80. About this informs EU Council site.
“EU is updating its visa rules in order to improve conditions for law-abiding travelers and to strengthen tools for responding to the challenges that arise as a result of illegal migration,” the report says.
It is noted that applications for a visa can be submitted in a period of six months (instead of the current three) to 15 days before the trip. It will be possible to fill out and sign an application for a visa in electronic form. In addition, those who frequently visit EU countries will be able to count on multiple-entry visas.
“The total visa fee will increase from 60 to 80 euros. At the same time, a mechanism for reviewing the size of the visa fee every three years will appear, ”the report says.
