In anticipation of new floods, authorities evacuated residents of 11 villages located near the Des and Karkheh rivers in the oil-rich province of south-western Khuzestan.
It is also known that officials released water from two large dams along rivers due to forecasts of new rains.

Iran’s energy minister, who is in charge of water resources, said the authorities are working around the clock to “control floodwater and minimize potential damage.”
The government said it would not be necessary to evacuate cities, but most likely damage would be done to villages and farms near rivers. Officials have promised to compensate farmers for the loss of crops or livestock, writes Reuters.

Note that this is the strongest rain in Iran over the past decade.

As reported by “Journalist”, due to flooding in the state of Nebraska declared a state of emergency.
