Invictus Games: Ukrainian athletes win new medals

Ukrainian athletes who participating in the Invictus Games international competitions held in the Australian city of Sydney, have won a number of medals. This is reported on the official Invictus Games page.
A team consist of novice archers – Maya Moskvich, Serhiy Shymchak and Andriy Usak, – won gold medal in the team competition. Among the novice archers, Maya Moskvich won another gold medal.

«This is just an incredible result. Especially considering that Maya has taken the sports bow for the first time in March this year,» the Ukrainian team noted.

Oleksandr Zozuliak won a silver medal in archery.
Athlete Bogdan Oksentyuk got a gold award in the race in 1,500 meters in the ІТ7 category.
«Ukrainian athlete Yuriy Dmytrenko won a silver medal in the hammer throwing in the IF1 category
Vasyl Omelchenko got the silver medal in the long jump in the category IJ5.
This year, teams from 18 countries have joined the competition, in particular from Australia, Afghanistan, Britain, Georgia, Denmark, Estonia, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, the USA, France and Ukraine.
Recall that the Invictus Games are international competitions in the Paralympic style. The participants of the competition are wounded soldiers and veterans. The Invictus Games was founded by British Prince Harry. The competitions were first held in London in 2014.
