Poland will not extend its long-term supply contract with Russia’s Gazprom after it expires in 2022, Radio Poland reports.
The Polish government pointman’s on strategic energy infrastructure, Piotr Naimski, said that Poland will become independent from Russian gas by the end of 2022.

“Poland’s obligation to purchase Russian gas expires in 2022. At the same time, it is planned to complete the construction of the new Baltic Pipe gas link this fall, which will supply Norwegian gas to Poland,” the message says.

According to Naimski, Poland will not extend the contract with Gazprom after 2022.

"Poland will also seek to diversify supplies by signing new contracts for the purchase of liquefied gas from the United States and Qatar," the report says.

As The Journalist reported, Bulgaria would build a new gas pipeline for Russian gas transit, bypassing Ukraine.
