The Kyiv City Council Secretary Volodymyr Prokopiv has written a letter of resignation.
He reported about this on Facebook.
“I made a decision to lead the European Solidarity team to the capital’s parliament, since the party was supported by almost 200,000 citizens of Kyiv,” Prokopiv noted.
According to the official, “the decision to head the European Solidarity Party in Kyiv makes it impossible for him to continue his work as the Secretary of the Kyiv City Council.”
“When the deputies elected me, I promised that I would not give preference to any party. I always keep my promises. Therefore, today I wrote a statement on the termination of powers of the secretary of the Kyiv City Council,” Prokopiv explained.
He expressed his hope that “the next secretary will be a young progressive person who will reject his political preferences and focus on uniting representatives of different parties to make important decisions for the people of Kyiv”.
