The Armed Forces Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine, Ruslan Khomchak, stated that he had neither received any orders concerning the ban for responsive shooting from the military and political authorities nor he had given such orders himself, BBC News Ukraine reports.

“There is a war there, and all the commanders are in their places. The squad leader controls the department, the commander of the platoon – the platoon, the commander of the company – the company. They don’t have any orders related to returning fire,” said the Chief of the General Staff.

He also noted that those who know how to wage a war would never give command not to shoot.

“There were no such orders, I have not received them from our military and political authorities, and I have not given the same commands either. I know for sure that the commanders in JFO area have not given such orders and they will never do,” said Khomchak.

As The Journalist reported, the Chief of General Staff Khomchak will not participate in TCG talks.
