Krykliy: Seaports of Ukraine handled 92 million tons of cargo from beginning of year

For first 7 months of 2020, the seaports of Ukraine handled 92 million tons of cargo, which is 7.1% more compared to the same period in 2019. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy, Uryadovy Portal reports.

According to Krykliy, the Ukrainian seaports demonstrate stable development despite the crisis.

At the end of the reporting period, the transshipment of export cargo increased to 69.5 million tons (+ 6.1%), import – up to 14.3 million tons (+ 7.7%), transit – up to 6.4 million tons (+14 %), and cabotage – up to 1.4 million tons (+ 41.9%).

All the ports handled ore and grain cargo – 26.4 million tons and 26.3 million tons, respectively.

Since the beginning of the year, the transshipment of ore has grown by 43.4%, coal – by 32.2%, oil – by 7.4%, crude oil – 3 times.

Transshipment of containers reached 604.0 thousand TEU and exceeded the last year’s figure by 10.6%.
