Kuchma and the head of the OSCE discussed “grain truce” in Donbas

Leonid Kuchma, former President of Ukraine, representative of Ukraine in the Tripartite Contact Group (TCG) to resolve the situation in Donbas, and OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak discussed preparations for the “grain truce” in Donbas to be announced on June 19 in Minsk.

It was reported by Kuchma’s press secretary Darka Olifer.

“The parties confirmed that there was no alternative to the Minsk agreements and fully agreed to prioritize implementation of the security block of these agreements. In this context, they discussed the preparation for the so-called “grain truce”,” as it says in the statement.

Kuchma and Laichak also expressed their regret regarding the disruption of the withdrawal of forces and means in the area of the StanitsaLuhanska, scheduled for June 10.

“There is certain progress with regard to the mutual liberation of the detainees; the issues of the release of Ukrainian sailors have also been discussed”, said Kuchma’s press secretary.

In addition, the meeting was attended by the Special Representative of the OSCE Head in Ukraine and the TKG Martin Saidik and the Chairman of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission Yashar Halit Chevik.

As reported by The Journalist, Kuchma said that Poroshenko’s decree did not provide for any economic blockade of Donbas.
