Kyiv records highest number of COVID-19 deaths since beginning of pandemic

Four people died from coronavirus in Kyiv over the past day, which is the largest daily mortality rate in the capital since the beginning of the epidemic.

This was announced by the Kyiv mayor Vitalii Klitschko during a briefing.

“News are far from optimistic: over the past day, the number of residents of Kyiv who have laboratory confirmed coronavirus, increased by 82 people, including 14 health workers. 4 people died from coronavirus. For the first time we have such daily coronavirus death toll. Today, there are 3,292 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the capital,” Klitschko said.

According to him, among those who sick with covid-19 are 47 women aged 19 to 94 and 5 girls from 7 months to 14 years, as well as 28 men aged from 22 to 77 and two boys who are 9 and 10 years old.

Klitschko noted that 16 patients were hospitalized. Others are treated at home in self-isolation under the supervision of doctors.

In total, 876 residents of the capital recovered from coronavirus, up 27 on previous day.

Most cases of the disease were confirmed in Darnytsya district – 21 cases, Podilskiy (13 cases) and Desnyanskiy (12 cases) districts.
