Kyiv reports new 275 coronavirus patients over past day

The mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko has said 275 residents of the capital were diagnosed with coronavirus over the past day, the Kyiv City State Administration reports.

“The situation with the spread of the virus remains difficult. Kyiv continues to be in the “orange zone”. Another 275 people fell ill with coronavirus over the past day. Two patients died. In total, the coronavirus claimed 318 lives of Kyiv residents. There are already 19,758 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the capital today,” Klitschko said.

Among those who were infected on previous day are: 139 women aged 18 to 93 and ten girls aged from three to 16. As well as 120 men aged 18 to 83 and six boys aged between five and 17. Daily figure also includes 8 health workers.

Some 36 patients were hospitalized. Others are staying on self-isolation under the supervision of doctors. Nine people have recovered over the past day. In total, 5,868 residents of Kyiv have overcome the coronavirus.

“Most cases of the disease were found in Darnytskyi district (74), Desnianskyi district (36), Dniprovskyi district (35),” Klitschko said.

In addition, according to Klitschko, there are 1,010 coronavirus patients in the capital’s hospitals today, 189 of them are in serious condition.

“The number of coronavirus patients who need hospitalization is not decreasing. Today, 1,010 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospitals of the capital’s medical institutions. Of these, 30 are children, 189 patients are in serious condition, 293 receive oxygen support, 22 patients are connected to ventilators,” the capital’s mayor clarified, adding that another 101 patients are in hospitals with suspected coronavirus, 366 patients are in hospitals with pneumonia.
