Kyiv sees 404 new coronavirus cases over past day

The mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko reported another record spike in coronavirus cases in the capital: 404 new cases as of September 10.

“The news, unfortunately, still disappointing: “orange zone” ban was imposed in Kyiv. This was determined by the government commission on emergency situations. And for the first time in the entire period of the pandemic in Kyiv, number of coronavirus patients reached 404 over past day, including 33 children,” the message reads.

Seven people died in a past day. In total, the coronavirus claimed 261 lives of residents of Kyiv.

There are already 16,523 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the capital as of September 11.

Among those who were infected on previous day are:

  • 215 women aged 18 to 84;
  • 156 men aged 18 to 81;
  • 14 girls aged from 4 to 17 and 19 boys aged from one month to 17 years old.

Daily figure also includes 13 health workers.

Some 58 patients were hospitalized. The rest are staying on self-isolation, under the supervision of doctors.

In total, 5,170 residents of Kyiv have overcome the coronavirus, up 168 on the past day.

The highest number of new cases were reported in Darnytskyi district (81), Desnianskyi district (64) and Dniprovskyi district (53).
