The Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has elected a new leader. Elizaveta Yasko was replaced by another people’s deputy from the “Servant of the People” Party, Maria Mezentseva. In addition, the Ukrainian delegation has chosen a candidate for the post of PACE Vice President. They, like last year, were chosen by Oleksandr Merezhko. The deputy head of the Servant of the People faction Yevhenia Kravchuk wrote about this on Facebook.
She stated that, given the new challenges facing Europe, the Ukrainian delegation should change its approaches and strategy.
“Therefore, we collectively decided that we will entrust the implementation of this new strategy to Maria Mezentseva, as a person who is already well known both in PACE and in other delegations and diplomatic circles with which she actively cooperated even before parliament, being engaged in international activities,” said the people’s deputy.
