The Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko, has said interference in the U.S. presidential election was carried out from the territory of Ukraine, but by US citizens.

According to the head of the Procecutor General’s Office, the American media reported that Ukrainians interfered in the US electoral process in 2016.

“I take the opportunity and I deny it. I think that the interference in the American elections was carried out from the territory of Ukraine, but by officials and U.S. citizens who held one or another position in our country,” said the Prosecutor General.

Lutsenko noted that citizens of America who tried to interfere in the presidential election campaign attracted citizens of Ukraine to their activities, UNIAN reports.

“Yes, it is true that such persons were attracted to the campaign to discredit one of the presidential candidates of the United States, who were favorites of the U.S. Embassy. But US law enforcement officers should give an assessment of such actions,” Lutsenko stressed.

As The Journalist reported, Trump’s lawyer called the name of “US enemy” in Zelensky’s inner circle.
