Lutsenko: SBU conducts case on the issue of Hungarian passports to residents of Transcarpathia

Ukraine’s SBU started investigating the cases of issuance of Hungarian passports to the residents Transcarpathian region. The case is handled by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko to the journalists, 112 Ukraine reports.

«The criminal proceeding opened, SBU deals with that,» – Lutsenko said.

Mr Lutsenko believes the issue of dual citizenship is unequivocal: one has to bear responsibility for such crime. In particular, this is about the deprivation of the Ukrainian citizenship for violators.

«If within the investigation of SBU such cases will be defined concerning other individuals – governors, mayors, ministers, pensioners, military, the action is the same: to deprive of the Ukrainian citizenship,» – added the Prosecutor General.

As it became known, earlier was published a video where Ukrainians, who received Hungarian passports, were asked by Hungarian diplomat not to inform the Ukrainian authorities about receiving the new documents.
As The Journalist reported, Klimkin believes Hungarian passports are permanently secretly given in Zakarpattia.
