In the Kyiv city state administration they claim that the cinema is taking an inventory “in order to avoid illegal destruction or damage to the property of the territorial community of Kyiv”, as reports TheBabel.
The Dovzhenko Center Distribution Manager Olena Penza says they called her and reported on an attempted raider seizure.
“They called me and said that unknown people were trying to seize the building. I have just arrived; I see people in a kind of militarized uniform; they do not introduce themselves. I was told they tried to enter the building and broke down the doors”, she said.
The police clarify that they are going to the crime scene and add that the message came from unknown persons without any specification.
“During April-May 2019, a former tenant of the Kyiv Cinema Cultural Center LLC illegally prevented commissions from the Kyivkinofilm enterprise and the Kyiv Municipal Property Department from accessing the communal property of the Kyivcinema building for examination”,informs the city hall.
The deputy director of the cinema, IrynaShynkarenko, reported that today, on June 7, at 10 am, the representatives of the municipal security barricaded themselves in the cinema building and did not allow the administration to enter the upper floors. She also added that the inventory took place in September 2018. Besides, she said that the representatives of the Cinema Center as a new cinema tenant, came along with the people in uniform.
