Mayor of Hlukhiv city, Sumy oblast, Michel Tereshchenko, said that she decided to run for president of Ukraine, reports UNIAN.

«The addition of the powers of the Mayor of Hlukhiv city to me is not a surrender to the existing arbitrariness, but this is my challenge to system. This is the only possible next step in fulfillment of commitments undertaken before the deaf people … since after Maidan democratic political forces have not been able to unite so far», Tereshchenko said.

«If we do not act now, then there is a danger that tomorrow Ukraine will lose its statehood. 100 years ago my ancestors were forced to leave their homeland, Hlukhiv, because bandits captured it. But I and my family are by no means going to leave our country, we want to live in a rich prosperous Ukraine and be proud of it. Not for that, I returned to the land of my ancestors, refused French passport and received Ukrainian citizenship, so that a bunch of scoundrels, who appropriated Ukrainian state, survived me from land of my ancestors. Therefore, now my goal is to dismantle the existing oligarchic system, along with indifferent citizens. And I realized that we have very little time for this. Therefore, I have to run for president of Ukraine», Tereshchenko said.

According to him, he knows how and what needs to be changed in Ukraine.

«My campaign will be based solely on volunteer work of indifferent citizens, on their contributions», Tereshchenko said. He said that he is now starting to write a program to save the country, since he has not yet developed it, because he has just decided to run, based on situation that has developed around his work in Hlukhiv. Tereshchenko also noted that plans to go to the presidency are not his personal ambitions, but he was motivated by the fact that he does not see any other way out. Michel Tereschenko does not rule out joining with another worthy presidential candidate, who will share his views and is ready to radically change the country, but does not yet see them. He assured that he would not abandon Hlukhiv residents and would continue to struggle to improve their lives.

Earlier Journalist reported that ex-regional Inna Bohoslovska will run for presidency.
